I stopped in at the library today and checked out 6 mags from the 80s-90s. In the next few days, I'll be scanning the W-body articles and posting the links in this thread. I have some about the Z34 ( with an LQ1 write up ), GTP, TGP vs T-Bird, STE, Cutty vert, Cutty 4dr Quad 4 5 speed, and a Lumina Euro. Possibly some others as well...havent gone through them all yet...

Hopefully not all of them are floating around the net yet.

Hey, cool! I've got a Popular Hot Rodding from '92 or '93 that previews all the new performance cars, and discusses the changeover from the 3.1 Turbo to the 3.4L DOHC in the Grand Prix and also talks about the Cutty Internationals and Z-34s.

Problem is, I don't have a scanner. But I'll sure as hell type it out for you guys!

well I only read the first ones so far but...

i find it really interesting to see the 0-80 times descrepancy!!!

The GP SE they tested had a 5spd but still...

GP:

0-60 in 9.7sec

0-80 in 16.8sec

Regal:

0-60: 11.2sec

0-80: 20.8 sec

Cutty:

0-60: 11.4 sec

0-80: 21.7 sec

Wow the MTX SE they tested with that 2.8 is almost as "fast" if not as fast as most of us with ATX 3.1 & 3100's. I find that really interesting considering the fact that it's down atleast 10hp and 10 ft/lbs of torque to the other 60* V6's I mentioned.

I'm wondering why the cutty's are so much slower than the Regals??? If I were to have 2 of them race, the buick would have put atleast a car on a supossedly comprably equipped vehicle. I'm wondering what all Olds did to make it almost a whole second slower? I'm going to assume the reason is the difference in the tuning of the transmission?!?

Having driven a my Grandma's mint '89 Cutty International Coupe that's not even really broken in (it has less than 15k original miles), I'd be interested to see what the regal's like. If there's one thing I like about the International's, it's the exhaust note. The stock exhaust note from her coupe is so much more appealing to me than what I get from my cutty. Oh yea and all the stuff Shawn is obsessed with like the Digi Dash and fully adjustable seats...etc.

Good post though! If you can find more of these, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it!

the TGP is soo much more attractive looking than the Supercoupe, the Tbird looks like a 2 door taurus, nothing really flashy about it. But GM coulda put alot more boost into the TGP and kept up with the Supercoupe,
