maybe2fast
So I have a new alt. battery and the system is hooked up correctly but the light blinks at about 5,000 rpm then turns off any thing below that
Dirty Rockstar
Fascinating.. Maybe a crossed wire?
Slade901
Could be the serpentine belt is stretched out or the belt tensioner is loose or needs replacement. At high RPM the serpentine belt or belt tensioner is subjected to higher stress.
Robby1870
I bet the alternator is bad....and Im serious. I put a new one on, 30min later same thing was happening, then about 30 min after that, at about 4000 rpm I hear a loud click charge light comes on. The alternator came apart on teh inside
maybe2fast
new belt, third alt. still does it, I will try the tensioner it wasn't that bad when the belt was off but the stress theory stated above is a good one!
