Disconnect battery negative cable.

Remove cables from starter solenoid.

Remove bolts holding starter to engine

Remove starter.  Save shims (if used) for reinstallation of the replacement starter.  Inspect flywheel teeth 360 degrees around the flywheel (rotate crankshaft to see all the teeth) to assure they're in fit condition for re-use.  There are likely three areas of heavier wear, with the remaining teeth showing little or no wear.  Broken or excessively-worn teeth mean the engine has to be split from the trans to replace flexplate/ring gear.  Excessively-worn flywheel teeth will destroy the matching teeth on the new starter.

Installation is the reverse.  You MAY have to dick with shims--more, fewer, different thickness--to get the mesh perfect.
