99 Lumina, adapting a vapor recovery pump when it wasn't equipped with one, possible?

Hello, I'm looking for a fuel pump assembly for my 99 with the 3.1. There are two types available, one with vapor recovery and one without. My car currently has the pump without vapor recovery. It seems like the pump assemblies WITH the vapor recovery hoses are cheaper and I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg right now. Is there a guide for adapting one of these vapor recovery pumps to a car that didn't have it? Is there an advantage to having this system? Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with any guide for conversion, but I can tell you the part # for the evap lines, evap module, evap valve, and fuel filler neck are completely different for Enhanced EVAP (NAC) vs standard EVAP.

All that stuff would likely need to be changed.  I didn't look any deeper than that, but I think there are additional sensors, module, and wiring for the system as well.

The only advantages I can think of (other than cheaper pumps) are purely environmental - slightly less fuel vapors escaping into the atmosphere.
