GnatGoSplat
What's a good chemical paint stripper that works on factory paint?
Galaxie500XL
Brake fluid seems to have ruined a few for me...but somehow, I don't think that's what you were asking.
Billyvannuys
I'm a retired 36 year construction painter. Worked with nearly all paint- related solvents. Since factory car paint is baked- on, regular strippers for furniture won't work. You'd likely have to go to benzine or xylene. You could get a small can and try it. The strongest paint solvents always have an "een" sound in their chemical names and are highly volatile and noxious. Be careful.
Imp558
and by all means read the precautions on the labels. A lot of high-strength strippers cause severe and permanent nervous system and brain damage
Heartbeat1991
Aircraft remover. Best way to go. Methylene Chloride based. Use it outside. Takes the paint down to bare metal in 2-3 minutes.

digitaloutsider
Like Dan says, I've used Aircraft Remover in the past. It's some nasty shit, but it works.
mfewtrail
Another vote for aircraft remover. The standard type is meant for metal parts, but they do make a version for use on urethane and possibly other types of plastic items. I have no experience with the stuff intended for plastic. GnatGoSplat
Looks like 2 companies sell "aircraft remover", Klean-Strip and Rust-Oleum. Is one better than the other?
Heartbeat1991
The plastic parts one is garbage. Don't waste your money.
