If you own an Intrigue with over 90k miles on it and you havent done this yet you will need to learn.

Step 1 Involves removing the door panel 90% of the time the drivers door fails so lets assume we will be doing a drivers side. There are two torx 30 screws in the middle of the door panel you will need to remove one is exposed right under the handle to open and close the door grab bar, the other one is located behind the master switch. To remove the master switch pull back towrds the rear of the car and up on the assembly it should pop right out. Remove the 3 pigtails one is the power mirror the other two are for the front and back windows.

Step 2 Next pull the plastic door handle back and stick a small standard blade screw driver under the plastic area behind the innder door handle it self push it in the bottom all way in and pry it upwards it should srping out and expose the third and final screw requiring removal to take the door panel off. It is a black PH2 phillips screw head in the front of the door handle retainer plate.

Step 3 Then pull the retainer plate out with the power lock switch on it and remove the pigtail for that.

Step 4 Run your fingers along the door panel and find a receesed area you can get your finger tips under and pull out and work your way around the door panel when you get to the top pull upwards to release the felt area for the window. Unplug the horn tweeter and remove the door panel and set it aside.

Back to the regulator removal

Step 5 remove the speaker pod by taking out all (4) 7mm screws and unplug the 5.25" speaker pigtail and remove the entire assembly

Step 6 Carefully remove the sound deadener / moisture barrier plastic cover by pulling along the tar line the tar or sealer should come off with the plastic remove it carefully because it is easier to reinstall with it entirely intact.

Step 7 plug the front window pigtail back into the master switch and if necessary drop the window so you can access the two 10 mm bolts that secure the window to the regulator lift bar you can either using the regulator motor or just manually slide the window into place to allow you to do this. Depending on how bad your regulator cable is you may not be able to this or even need to. If the cable is broken which many are you can slide the window up and down with your hands.

Step 8 In the center of the door you will find a steel u shaped bracket that the door panels itself actually screws to there is a torx 30 screw in it and a 10mm bolt that also holds to top of the regulator in the door remove that bracket.

Step 9 With the speaker removed you can access the electric motor pigtail that connects to the power window motor slide a screw driver or needle nose pliers into this pigtail and slide it forward to remove it.

Step 10 loosen the 3 10 mm bolts that also have a torx 30 on them as well so the motor and the triangular shaped bracket can be slid up and out the slotted holes push the motor back into the door. IMPORTANT do not remove the motor itself from the regulator! Let the motor fall into the door.

Step 11 There are three more regulator bolts to removed one is remaining on top on the left that is next to where that U shaped bracket used to be and two 10 mm bolts with the torx 30 on them that secures the regulator to the bottom of the door.

Step 12 Slide the window up and out of the way and tape it up or secure it some other way to ensure it doesn’t get in the way when removing regulator and other internal door parts

Step 13 with all (4) of those 10 mm bolts removed you should be able to slide the regulator bar in the middle back and pull it out the big hole on the back side of the door using your right hand guide the motor/cable assembly out of the door with the regulator.

Step 14 Reinstall new regulator by bolting the 4 10 mm bolts back in place the two top and two bottom leave the top right bolt loose to reinstall the u shaped bracket. Plug pigtail back into motor assembly.

Step 15 Slide the motor in place tighten bolts

Step 16 Slide the window back down onto the regulator tabs and replace 2 10 mm bolts and tighten them as well

Step 17 reinstall U shaped bracket

Step 18 reinstall sound deadener / moisture plastic

Step 19 reinstall speaker pod

Step 20 hang door panel on door pressing plastic screws back into place

Step 21 plug in door lock switch

Step 22 run the 30 torx screw into middle of door panel

Step 23 reinstall master switch after plugging in all 3 pigtails

Step 24 reinstall door handle bezel by screwing the black PH2 Phillips screw back into place and snap in cover

Step 25 Enjoy your new functioning window
