drgnlzrd
Hello everyone.......I am painting a fender(passenger) ..it is aftermaket. I know the basic steps scuff sand, prime, wet sand, primer sealer, base coat and then clear coat. It is the little details I am worried about. I will be doing this fender using duplicolor base and clear coats. Can anyone give me any advice to really do a good job?? I bought some bulldog adhesion promoter anyone ever use this and do you recommend to use this under primer??
THe_DeTAiL3R
If you are using Duplicolor spray cans there's not a lot to worry about. I did my spoiler- sanded it w/ 600grit, and then just painted (It's not metal so I didn't worry about primer), and clear afterwards. 2-3 coats of each. Heres right after I did it (still lots of orange peel) http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v257/dsjune/95%20GP/spoiler%20painted/ Here's a pic of it after I wetsanded, used rubbing compound and polish (rotary buffer) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/dsjune/95%20GP/buffed%20May22%2006/trunklid.jpg
