This first bit is old news, but I thought I'd throw it in anyways. I installed my KYB's in the back end of the Regal over the July 4th holiday. Here's some pics of the torched strut and upper mount:

Here's how the back end looked after I installed the struts:

It has since settled down in the back a bit.

This weekend, I was back at it again. Here's what I bought the other day:

I started on my front brakes by removing the brackets and painting them with DupliColor "Aluminum" high-temp engine paint. I painted the calipers with DupliColor's red "caliper painting kit."

Like Fat Bastard would say: "It's dead sexay!!!"

After I got the calipers all painted, I slapped on a set of Raybestos PG Plus pads.

A word of advice to those of you who buy the DupliColor caliper kit: Go to Wal-Mart and buy 8 or so of the 1/4" paint brushes (not the artist type, but the "house painting" type.) The crappy little brush that was included in the kit fell apart after the 1st coat of paint.

I was going to attempt the back brakes today, but it was way too damn humid, so I went and had my tires mounted on my new Eagle 192's instead:

The lugnuts I bought were too short, so I had to reuse the stock lug nuts until I can find the time to return the new ones. And wouldn't you know it, as soon as I was snugging down one of the passenger side front lug nuts, I snapped off a frickin' stud! Now I have to buy a damn stud removal tool :x .

Also tonight, I attempted to change out my front struts. I got as far as getting the new driver's side cartridge in place, but I wasn't able to position it back so I could get the bushing back in. The shaft on the KYB cartridge is threaded differently than the stock strut, and I couldn't get the "extension bar" threaded onto the shaft to move the strut around. I guess I'll have to see if I can find an 8" length of solid pipe to drill & tap with the proper threads to use as an extension bar  .

Anybody who's installed the KYB front cartridges, what brand of "Strut Tool" (kit) did you use? The one I'm using is the "Mastercraft" brand. I have no idea if other brands' extension bars have the proper threads for KYB's...

looks good...but, maybe you should have sprayed some of that silver paint around the inside edge of the rotor...that rust looks kinda nasty...
I thought about it before I painted the calipers, and I may still paint the rotors later. I've got so many other things that I have to do on the Regal that it's the little shit like that that's killing me right now :x . That and the damn humidity!!!

Mine went in just fine with the... I believe it was a Kent Moore or Kentmore or whatever tool... It's my dad's...

Mine did go in just fine too... Didn't even have to use a different tool than what came out originally...
