New Cutlass Convertible owner

My wife and I just got this nice 93 vert at Mecum's Indy auction. Came with the boot, convertible supplement book and original top maintenance VHS Tape. Had been in storage in South Dakota since '06. Having it checked by my mechanic to make it road ready for her. We had a '92 vert in the exact same color combo a few years ago but it had not been taken car of by the PO so we sold it when we moved. She loved driving it top down so when this one came to the block I couldn't say no to her.

 I think she likes me..now..

Very nice, I have a white 95 I`m also getting ready for the road. I saw a red Vert with a white top once watching the Mecum auction on TV.

Welcome back to the Cutlass vert weirdness.  If you ever get that top maintenance VHS tape digitized, there might be some folks on here who could use a copy.  Beautiful car man.

Welcome to the forum. That car looks sharp. Is it white inside too?

Maroon, looks sharp. Is it a 3.4?

Yes. It's a 3.4. But it's kinda noisy. The mechanic I took it to claims it's coming from the A/C compressor but I'm not so sure after reading some of the information here. It also had the poor stopping issue. I've already had him do the front brakes completely but I haven't picked it up yet to see if it helps. I'm also a little suspicious now of the car itself because all of the badging is missing on both sides. It may be no big deal. I hope so.

If it only has the DOHC emblem on the side front, mine is the same, my base 1994 coupe has the Cutlass Supreme badges all over it, or did before I took them off for paint. If you want some for the hell of it I might could spare a few. I want the classic cursive emblems for my Vert anyways.

Thank you for all the nice compliments. the noise was the compressor so we switched it out for a bypass pulley for now and the brakes are good now.

rich_e777... let me know what you'd like for the badges and we'll work something out.

BTW..Does anyone recognize the wheels? I have no idea and I'd like to know.

Wow! Just $,3000 For a cherry looking vert at Mecum auction. That's a very good indicator that these cars aren't worth much to those professionals who value old cars. Hmm. Curious. Great find for you , though. Congrats.

In its defense, the car doesn't look to be 100% factory. That may factor in. A fully original muscle car will bring more money in than someone else's project.

That photo was a screenshot from the online video before the bidding ended. We actually give $4000 for it. It has 70000 miles. I checked it over as best I could and other than the wheels and lack of badging it seems to be all factory.

I guess I'm going to have to run a carfax to find out.

That's not a bad price either! If it's in decent shape, wheels and badges aren't really a huge issue imo

Google the email address

that raises more questions ! I was referring to an older member who would always talk about different cars he owned with no proof. Nice guy in person though.
