I'm using an ALDL cable with TunerPro RT to diagnose a no-idle condition. I'm trying to verify that I'm using the correct acquisition definition and calibration before I rely on the live data. Can anyone confirm: Which ECM service number and mask should this car use? Which ADX (or ADS) is the correct one for a 1990 LH0 W-body? Which XDF and stock BIN correspond to that ECM? Is A109 correct, or is there a better definition for this application? Has anyone successfully scanned a 1990 LH0 with TunerPro RT, and if so, what files were you using? Current symptoms: Fuel pressure is 38–40 PSI. Engine will run smoothly if I keep it alive with the throttle. It will not establish an idle on its own. Code 34 has appeared. Code 34 Cleared. MAP values appear reasonable (while running), but some other parameters don't seem to decode correctly. I have already verified ignition wire routing and corrected several vacuum hose issues. Also does anyone know the factory procedure for setting the throttle stop screw on a 1990 LH0 throttle body? Mine was previously adjusted, and I'm trying to return it to the correct baseline without guessing. That's an all metal cased unit, it was not put into the W body cars. There's no way to mount it at all. The proper ecm for your car would be the 1227727 ecm. Seeing as you have the incorrect ecm you more than likely do not have the correct memcal chip as well. Quote

I only listed it because I found TunerPro definitions that referenced the 1227727/1227730 family. I haven't physically verified the ECM service number yet. Before I pull the ECM, can someone confirm the factory ECM service number and MEM-CAL for a stock 1990 Cutlass Supreme 3.1 LH0 W-body? 55trucker Posted 51 minutes ago Report Posted 51 minutes ago (edited) You understand that because you're dealing OBD1 the ECM mem cal's are tuned to the specific vehicle powertrain the mem-cal is plugged into for particular vehicles ECM. If one is attempting to do custom chip mods you can't just use a program such as TunerPro to alter the mem-cal, you have to burn a new eeprom blank chip (27C256) to fit into the chip housing that plugs into the mem-cal slot. To burn the chip you will need the physical Moates chip burner, a laptop with the Moates software on it to read the existing mem-cal, extract that BIn file, then you have to write the new BIN program with the Moates software & then command the burn of the new blank chip. To be honest one usually doesn't get it right the 1st time. Here is the list of GM OBD1 ECMs & the accompanying MEM-CAL ID's. Yours will the 1227727. Your engine code is *T*, the mem-cal will be for either auto or man trans. Your mem-cal has a sticker attached to the mem-cal, pull the ECM inspection cover, the mem-cal is right below the cover for easy access.
