Jscott Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Hello, I have a question about my 1990 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme international. Having trouble trying to get the sunroof to operate properly. It does open for the tilt ok but doesn’t want to open up and retract. Do these cars have that ability to open fully or is it just a vent option. The control box says Inalfa. Tried to reset it by holding the close button but nothing happens. Any information on this is much appreciated. Thank you. Quote
Psych0matt Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 I had a similar issue for the past 10 years that I finally dealt with this past fall, the relay inside was acting up and it would only do the reverse position maybe 4% of the time, if not less. I literally had to sit there and keep clicking it until it would finally decide to take. It would always work on the reverse(?) side; so from vent to close, or from close to slide open, and it sounds like yours is having the reverse issue. However, it depends on what unit you have, its possible its a vent only but Here's the post. I ended up having to use a slightly newer relay module, I simply couldn't find an exact match, but they're pretty much the same thing. One thing is that on mine it has a stop switch since "closed" is in the middle of open and vent, where as newer cars such as my 06 go into vent mode and then slide back essentially still in vent mode but slid back, if that makes sense. Point being, I lost the stop feature since the newer unit doesn't have to account for that, but I'd rather lose that and be able to actually open and close it, I just have to make sure it's in a good sealed position, which isn't hard. Here's the part number if it's the same unit as mine (which I think it should be) then it would be worth a try. I did have to cut the plugs from the old one and rewire them onto the new unit, but that took just a few minutes Edited 17 hours ago by Psych0matt Quote
