1990 TGP with grey leather. CD. Moonroof. Value?

My car has been sitting quit awhile now and uncertain if I'm going to get to it. So looking into my options. I guess ideally I like the turbos but open to a GTP. I really like grey leather and I know it's impossible to find. Just wondering if I think I will take the time to swap it out to the one I replace it with?

You didn't really give us much to work with here. The value of Turbo GPs is so subjective at the moment, At least from what I've seen over the last few years is color combinations don't matter nearly as much as overall condition.

What else you want to know? You saying grey leather interior option is not rare or valuable? There can't be many out there

Gray leather is rare but at least as of now (2024) I don't think it really makes it any more valuable. The only of these cars that seem to approach value as of now are the immaculate condition ones regardless of color options - not that there was much to choose from black/red, gray/tan.

A mint red/cloth one is guaranteed to be more valuable then a more ragged out black/gray/sunroof car.

Strictly speaking at this point in time finding a beautifully kept one is extremely hard regardless of colors or options.

I almost bought a gray cloth one some years back, but we couldn't come to a deal.  This one has tan leather.  I think this is the same one I looked at a couple years ago.  Still asking too much.  I hate the tan, but that's probably what you're going to find looking for a pristine one.

Nice car,

why would anyone be so outrageously silly as to add an aftermarket luggage rack to the trunk?...on this particular car?..completely ruins the cosmetic appeal of the car.

TGP trunks were bare.

Well I'm not hearing much other than people want mont condition car? I don't personally feel my car is aweful. It's just I'm old and sick and want to enjoy one for awhile. I won't get to it but think someone should enjoy the rarity of it. I think I have decided to sell it and get whatever I can afford. If anyone is interested let me know

Post some pics.

All White93Z is saying is that the grey leather doesn't turn a $3,000 car into a $5,000 car just because it has grey leather.  Buyers of these cars are going to be most concerned about about the overall condition vs the colour of the interior and almost all would pick the better condition car regardless of the interior colour.

Does it add some value to the right buyer?  I'd say yes(how much, I'd guess less than $500 IMO) , but it'll still come down to overall condition of the car.

As a price range IMO  (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and like I said MAYBE add $500 for the grey interior, but that's just to the right buyer)

- beaten, ABS issues, doesn't run right, 500-$1,500

- no ABS issues, decent body and/or runs proper - 1500-4000 (depending on actual condition)

- Better body, no ABS issues, and runs good, maybe not pristine 4-6.

-pristine 6+ (Higher for low mileage ones, but those are rare)

Eww, I guess I didn't notice that.  IDK why anyone would put a luggage rack on these period, but I guess some people had a reason.  Also says it has brake issues.  For 9k...oh, boy!

I think Bake82 nailed it on the numbers. People tend to mistakenly assume rare automatically = worth lots of moneyz!!! There's 2 parts to the supply & demand equation, and unfortunately, the demand part simply isn't there with these cars (or pretty much any of the '80s/'90s GM oddities). It's a very niche market with only a handful of nuts like us that give any damn about them at all. The TGP specific parts are hard to find nowadays and many parts are quite expensive to fix/replace (leaking crossover pipes, bad ABS pump/master cylinder, radiators, anything turbo related, etc). Combine that with the fact they only produced 205hp, ran mid 15s and have basically 0 aftermarket for them, and it's just not worth it to most car enthusiasts. The only exception is if it's in pristine condition with low miles so that they don't have to do anything to it. They can just drive it to car shows or cars and coffee as a conversation starter. Only under those circumstances might it be worth more than $5k. Otherwise, no one cares about them but us. :(
