It's a bit of a bitch to get to on the LQ1 engine because of how big the heads are on that car (you can't get to it from the top), but it's down on the back of the engine basically between the transmission and the engine block.  The best bet to get to it is probably through the passenger wheel wheel, and by removing the alternator. Someone else might have better tips, but it's been a long long time since I've dicked with one of those on the 3.4. It's a piece of cake on the 5-speed cars, but it sucks ass on the automatic.
