Jerk when letting off gas

Ok, I unhooked the torque converter - that's not the issue

the gas pedal is more sensitive now, but no go. After all this, it has flipped. It's now when your press the gas it starts to die, then picks up.

You removed the bolts that fasten the converter to the engine flex plate & started the engine without the trans spinning?

so, what you're saying is .........you have a dead spot just off idle when you open the throttle blade.

Do you have a vacuum gauge handy?

I had meant the torque converter clutch connector going into the transmission as a few said in the thread. I've got a friend that's got one - if not I'm sure harbor freight has one that can't be too much.

When you get your hands on one do the following as this link directs.....just because today's engines are fuel injected that doesn't mean a vacuum gauge is of no use.

21" of vacuum is just about all that these small short stroke engines will produce.
