Fall Meet Location?

Recommended Posts

What if we went a bit further south like Louisville KY? Or more west like Indiana? That may add a little drive time for some of the regular attendees but may make it more obtainable for others who may not normally come out.

I really want to have the meet somewhere where we have a local who can organize it.

Honestly I'd do it . . . but . . . there's a good number of people without passports, who would never make it.

I'm beginning to fear that we're not going to have a meet at this point.  Will show up just about anywhere for a meet.  Will book a meet soon if no one else does.

Me and Nunzi discussed this briefly over the weekend. We thought Erie may be a good location. It's closer for everyone except the Ohio and Michigan people. No one really comes from anywhere west of Ohio anyways. Moving the meet further west would just make it a longer haul for 75%+ of us.

Honestly unless it's in Toledo or closer I won't make it, and even then I probably won't, having a newborn and all. Possibly make an appearance Saturday if it's that close, but I've already accepted I won't make it

However, next year I wouldn't mind driving a bit further and seeing new sights

And there really isn't much to do in Toledo or Columbus either. Only difference is that they have big junkyards... it's been years since I haunted Erie's yards but they weren't that great then.

Depending on the interest I'd be down for Erie/Western PA. It would be pretty sweet to have a cookout on Presque Isle.

Split the difference between the two, and go to Cedar Point?

Keep in mind, it's just a suggestion. With my ridiculous staffing situation at work, I already know I can't go--it took me a month to schedule a couple of hours off to go to the dentist. :(

What do we really do anyways? As long as there is a park, junkyard, thrift store and a restaurant/bar I think we are good to go. Back in June myself, Jill and Will went to the zoo on Sunday and the Saars and a few other people went go karting, but that was about it.

If the weather is good/great Presque-Isle will be fun.  I actually want to run around the fake island a little bit.

There's Big Woodies, a casino, there is an indoor waterslide place if we are so inclined & a smaller theme park down near Presque-Isle.

To be entirely honest, sounds kinda weak when compared to your earlier plan of the Angola meet though.

Erie does not have a wrecking yard that is friendly to having people walk around. how about Cleveland? 2 large self-serve yards, several diners that have been featured on 3ds, and a rock and roll Cafe? we have to have a member in Cleveland to tell us what neighborhoods would be better to get the motel in.

My vote is either Detroit or Erie.

We stayed up in Detroit for the 3800/Space Bobby meet and honestly what attracts me to the area is just having a hotel with a very flexible parking lot where we can hang out all night long.  There's also an outdoor pool (could be a little chilly) but hottub would be great!

One of the least favourite things for me is a bunch of us whispering in a hotel room where we have to all be separated since the rooms are either too hot or too small, and the complaints.

There's a BXX Evans nearby and right beside it is the Chinese Community Center where (assuming that he can get in) we can hang out with Chinese Matt and his people.

There's also a really cool burger bar immediately beside the Fairfield called Twin Peaks where there's lots of "Twin peaks."

Detroit would be cool, we would have a really killer time at Presque Isle but I don't think there's anything else to do since all we really have here is bars. sounds like Saar doesn't care as long as he gets to wear a costume.
