We're doing the rear main seal and timing belt. The car is rust free underneath and needs a bit of odds and ends work. Fortunately, the woman who owns it loves the car and is in the process of having it restored. And I know someone here likes keeping track of these... The entire engine's being gone over so if it's not the rear main seal, we'll find it before the car leaves. Today was mainly about getting the engine unmounted from the subframe and removed, and bolting the subframe back into the car, transmission still attached. In the middle of the argument, he said the LQ1 was crap. I pointed behind him to a 2200 Corsica on a lift and said "No. THAT'S crap." He replied "No. That's a workhorse." Don't get abuse and fun mixed up, the LQ1 has been proven that it can handle a beating, just not neglect. I neglected the shit out of my '94 cavalier and that car would not die.
