  1. 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 102,500 miles, Triple White. Email at I bought this car in Texas and drove it back to Cincinnati in February 2012. It was in Florida originally then Texas. Since I've had it: 4 new tires and alignment, New Valve seals and Head gaskets, New timing belt, New spark plugs and wires, New Ignition switch; the old one quit detecting the chip, New Radiator, New Thermostat, New Serpentine belt, New Alternator. It's due for a new top, but the curtain is still good. It does have the boot. Of course it has minor paint issues all over and the worst of it is a scrape over the fuel filler door. I've never really had any issues with this car, I just don't drive it enough and don't have time or money to do the restore it deserves and I no longer have a garage. It's time for it to find a new care giver. I have lots of random extra parts for it. I had a parts car that I got what I thought I might need and then sold. All included if you want it: -Entire frame with pump for the top, the end of one of the pistons is broken, otherwise it's all good, -Window seals for the rear quarter windows from a Camaro or Trans Am that you can cut to fit, -Right front fender (red), -Front bumper cover (red), -Headlight assembly, -Transmission, -Random parts from the engine including the block, overhead cams, and other stuff I'm sure, -Another spare complete engine that I believe has a broken rod (from a friend's 1993 vert, he replaced his engine) -Full set of original wheels that were painted to look like the original finish, I never used them because I wasn't sure what kind of paint was used but they look pretty good, looks like a professional job.
  2. Thanks, I haven't heard of Moog. I'll look into them.
  3. On the topic of wheel bearings... Does anyone have a brand preference? There is a big price jump at Autozone. $60 for duralast vs. $87 for Timken.
  4. I will get called crazy for this but I just had my ignition cylinder replaced at the dealer because the contacts for the chip weren't connecting half the time, so I had all the lights but no start. I was going to tackle it myself but the Haynes manual says something about needing special tools for the tilt wheel. It was about $310 for parts and labor but so far my starting issues are history.
  5. From what I've read the pump should be full with the top down.
  6. Does anyone know if it matters which transmission fluid to use? I have Dexron VI. Will that work?
  7. I just found this '91 near me in Cincinnati on craigslist. It's a black one. Someone (not me) should save it!
  8. I like the idea of unplugging temporarily to make sure that's the problem. I don't think it's the neutral switch b/c I've tried starting it that way. Also mine is a vert so I only have two reverse bulbs.
  9. I haven't noticed it being better or worse during turns or breaking. I was guessing it might be a bushing somewhere.
  10. so does that mean if I replace the ignition switch it would work as it should? I'm guessing that requires a new key and programming which I can't do myself? I hope I'm not sounding dumb, but I tend to over analyze before I get into a something. Thanks again for the help.
  11. So do you think the starting issue is a security problem and not a bad switch?
  12. Hey all, Can I jump start this thread please? I'm having a similar issue with my 95 vert 3.4. When I turn the key it will either start fine or it will do everything except start the click from the starter, all the electronics work but no start and it's very sporadic. Occasionally when driving the security light comes on. If this is a VATS problem, is this super had to understand? I don't want to mess up electronics and I don't want to bypass. I'm not concerned about theft, just want to keep everything original.
  13. So I've heard this rattle before in other W's but I'm not sure what it is. My vert did it before and after the new shocks. It's a 95 with 101k miles. The noise happens when I hit a bump so I'm guessing its got something to do with the suspension, and I don't think it's related to braking. The old shocks were leaking so I'm thinking they may have been original, the new ones are form Autozone. I also replaced tie rod ends and then had the alignment done by Tire Discounters when I got new tires. They didn't mention any issues but they weren't necessarily looking for problems either. My friend's '05 G6 is making a similar but not as loud noise. Any ideas? I don't even know where to start with this one
  14. I've seen them on Craigslist for 50-100. I think I gave 75 or 80 for the white one I bought.
