bluecalais79 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Share Posted October 9, 2017 Good Morning, I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem & where I can pinpoint where to look for it. I have a small water leak running down inside the trunk. Right side is ok. The trunk weather strip looks to be mint, so I don't think that is an issue. It looks like it may be starting all the way inside the trunk, perhaps under the rear window. Fortunately no water is getting into the passenger compartment, and it's not so bad that it is accumulating in the spare tire well......yet. I am getting a small puddle in the trunk by the left tail light. Has anyone else had the same issue, it is not major now but these things only get worse over time. thanks. Imp558 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Share Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) Mine was the top of the back window, the power antenna could be a problem too but I wouldn't expect water from there to make it into the back seat. I got a plastic scraper under the trin and laid a thin bead of silicone, then cleaned the excess off with a little acetone on a rag and it stopped. I thought I saw something that looked like heavy condensation along the back window/rear quarter windowline where it should not be. If so that could trickle down anywhere along the line. I plan to pull the (ruined) carpet-like felt on the side and see what gives. I might use some of that flex tape as a blocker as it will not be seen once the felt cover is reinstalled. Imp558 Posted October 9, 2017 Report Share Posted October 9, 2017 I did not take the trim off, I cut the tip on the end of the tube of sealant right at the end so it wasn't very big. Then I used a plastic scraper to gently lift up the trim where it met the paint and I put the tip in there and shot the stuff underneath it. after I went across the top and just around the corners on both sides I pushed the trim back down in place and used a rag that was damp with acetone to wipe away the excess Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
