Grandprix1 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Share Posted February 15, 2017 How does one go about removing the throttle body on the L36 Grand Prixs? I bought a throttle body spacer and heat shield from ZZP but can't seem to figure it out. Is it as easy as just unbolting it or do you have to remove the throttle connection some how? rich_e777 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Share Posted February 15, 2017 You wont lose any coolant and it should only be 2 maybe 3 bolts and it will pop off. The old gasket may be making it stick, and you can leave the throttle cables attached. I was able to do so on my L67 fairly easy. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ive heard on the NA cars such as mine there is a braket that connects to the bottom of them and goes down to the exhuast cross over pipe which needs to be removed. Hopefully thats not the case. I probably should have bought another gasket to go with it but i didnt so ill be gentle with the current gasket. ZZP says its reusable. Imp558 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Share Posted February 15, 2017 My L36 didn't have a bracket. You might have a little coolant but there shouldn't be enough to worry about that high. Now we will see what the heat shield and throttle body spacer do. Grandprix1 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Report Share Posted February 23, 2017 Yeah it's got studs. Just barely fits with the spacer and heat shield. It seemed to make a difference in power.
