Wheel from 97-03 Grand Prix

I have seen some Gen 1 W-body using 97-03 Grand Prix Wheels. I happened to find one that I like at the junkyard, but unfortunately after I installed the first wheel on my 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix STE, I noticed that the spoke will hit the caliper bracket. Seems like the offset on the rim is different. I wonder has anyone else added some kind of spacer? If so, where could I find it, and would it be worth it?

Let me know please. Thanks

It's not the offset of the rim-to-the-hub but the backset location of the hub flange. The Gen 1 wheels have a deeper hub flange backset so as to clear the brake caliper, the Gen 1 brake rotor *hat* is shallower than the Gen 2 brake rotor *hat* which in turn places the caliper further outward.  You can mount Gen 1 wheels on a Gen 2 car but you can't mount Gen 2 wheels on a Gen 1 car regardless of the rim offset unless of course one uses a spacer. There is approx 3/32" interference on the rears & slightly less on the fronts.

I found out the hard way many years ago.

BTW wheels are hub centric & if you all you need is 3/32" (2.4 mm) then a  3 mm spacer (5x115) is all you need. This should still allow registering on the hub & use of the stock nuts.. I had a similar problem putting Beretta wheels on a Fiero that rubbed the caliper. These should work.
