Or why did the original owner had them installed??? Anyways I tried just about everything to get them off, any idea how? I don't really want to go to the dealer to get a key order and spend cash out my a$$ just to have them replaced... I'm stump..... 55trucker Posted November 18, 2015 Report Share Posted November 18, 2015 I've read elsewhere that a good quality 20mm 12 point deep socket will drive on and catch the keyed lug nut and turn them out, personally never has this issue as I've never lost the keyed socket. 95greenSE Posted November 18, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 18, 2015 I've tried that, didn't work, tried multiple sockets and still nothin, the lug nut is now striped before I realize it was a keyed nut, I thought that it was seized, and j didn't get the key when I got to car about a month ago. 95greenSE Posted November 18, 2015 Author Report Share Posted November 18, 2015 I called discount tire and they said they got a way to get them off, I got to get two tries anyways so I'm going to have them do it and replace the keys, and all I wanted to do was to change the rear breaks in the damn thing.....oh well. Every mechanic and wheel thief has a set of those. Work great. I've used them lots of times. No more difficult than removing a regular lugnut.
