So i got some headers installed in my monte. Took alot of massaging just to get them in. But the rear header seems to rubbing against the firewall right underneath the ac line. Causing random vibrations when driving, turning and turning AC on.

Shop wasnt sure if its okay to pound there or not. Told me to wait to see if it settles after week or so then we'll see what else we can do.

I had that problem as well when I installed headers on my '00. I had to hammer away at the firewall/footwell corner. Just check whats behind where you need to make room just in case so you won't f anything up.

Aside from being annoying it can cause false knock as well. I wouldn't wait to see if it "settles"

Seems like headers will easily hit either the firewall or steering rack, you have to get it just right.

IIRC, didn't Bxx have to take an air hammer to Andrei's firewall so the headers would fit on his Regal?

Then again, this is 1 vs 1.5 gen...

Nevermond just seen your for sale thread.

Gen 1s and Gen 1.5s have the same firewall. Gen twos have different firewalls. To install headers most just beat back the firewall. But the betterway is to weld in new metal. I am actually surprised you were able to even bolt them together on the car.
