I am leeking fluid from around the trans mount. I have not pulled the mount out but that is the only place the fluid is. I found one of the bolts not all the way. are either of the holes go threw to inside the case so fluid could leek out.

does the fillhole/dipstick have a small white colored plastic piece under it? it might be leaking from there if you don't have that piece. as far as i know the tranny mount bolt holes are blind holes, IOW no fluid can leak from them (unless the case is cracked or something). my first 282 had a cracked case but thankfully it didn't leak much fluid at all.

i took the mount off and did not see anything...but there is the fluid just sitting....it is very strange...the dip stick is fine that piece....i am thinking it is spilt fluid that let loose

Been having a puddle under my Zed...found out it's from my Getrag. Can anyone with a PC be able to tell from the pictures I took where it's leaking? I degreased & hosed down the fluid-bathed belly of her, then parked it for a week before taking photos. Fluid's $10+ a quart, but I'm more concerned with whether or not the parts are available or whether I can do the work myself (pending the time, knowledge, & tools required). Any help would be appreciated. I add fluid 2-3 times/ month.

Theres not many places that fluid can leak from. Theres the seal or silicone between the two halves, the drain plug, the fill, the input shaft seal, and the detent cover, and the o-ring for the intermediate shaft goes. Other than that theres no other places that fluid can come out right there. Although it was leaking from the input shaft seal, or the detent cover, the clutch would start slipping soon after. Especially with that much fluid coming out.

Id clean everything up real good, take off that flywheel plate or whatever its called and take a look up into the clutch area.

If you left the car running would it leak, or does it only seem to leak while driving down the road?
