How fast will this car be????

SO my friend just bought his dad's car from him. It is a 1988 Olds Cutless Ciera. But the powertrain has been entirely gutted by his dad cuz he wanted more power, and his dad had a handbuilt 220 hp 3.8 ohv v6 put in, along w/ the 4t65-e tranny. The car feels pretty quickly, and can smoke the tires from a standstill. Yesterday we were debating wether his car could bring down a 3000 mit. gt n/a stock & thats like his fav. car & he was all like no i dont think it could but im fairly confident it would. Since the stock curb weight is around 2800 lbs. id have to imagine this car would make a nice sleeper and would run the 1/4 mile in high 14's, low 15's. What do you guys think?

The 3KGT non turbo has about 190ftlbs and 222hp and wieghs in around 3200-3400lbs. Runs mid to high 15s i believe stock.

Having Oldsmobile pride, I'd say hell yeah it could beat it.. But what do I know? The only thing I've raced in is a Blazer.. :?

Well if a modded Grand Prix GT with 3800 (lets assume its got 220hp) can run in the mid 15s, and its a good 500lbs heavier.. I think that little Olds should fly! I'd say mid 14s to low 15s is a safe number to call.

Also if you consider a j-body w/ 3400 (175hp) can run mid 14s, the Cierra is around the same weight (maybe alittle heavier with that engine) but if pushing 220hp .. you do the math.

i could have kept up with you if my bad ass chevelle had not been stolen it has yet to be recovered i know its had the vin change or some crap done to it by now and won't be recovered

The motor's at the mach. shop right now. It's a 76 Eldo block (FWD BIATCH) bored .040 (509") w/ a ton of added on parts. I'm at a standstill w/ it because the shop made one of the valve seats too big, and I've been so wrapped up in TGP's for the last year that I'm not that excited about the project anymore. I'm thiking of just getting a stock iron head, get a valve job on both heads, and run stock. I have the big valves/ whole head kit (To really make them breath) but, it's just MORE money that I don't really care to spend (I'd rather spend it on a LG5 right now) So I may just have them put it together, and sell it off, or go ahead and put it in the truck. Hell, it'll still have over 400 HP and 500 lb/ft or torque. I DO know the next Caddy I build (oh yes, there will be more) is going to be a 540" Twin Turbo Injected motor. So, that's why I don't really care about this one. They now offer GREAT flowing Aluminum heads and I can't use them w/ the current piston/head setup. (Would net 13:1 comp. :shock: ) WHOOSHIT!!! Okay, I'm done jacking this thread. Sorry.

its probaby been stripped. if a junky car is stolen, some thugs wanted a car, but if a nice car is stolen it's probably for parts and body panels and shit

I'd Take on you Camaro in the Good old Ghetto Stang. its only a 83 LX you should have no Problems with it....just ignore the 10.5 slicks on the back. and the aircleaner sticking out of the hood okay.

I figured since everyone was pissing up the Rope I wanted to piss too....
