    back to the strip!!

tuesday!! going to IRP(indianpolis raceway park)!! last year i was 1 of 6. the 1st time i got blown away, then started to to improve each race till i beat the last car. so, lets see if i can change that. last year i brought the FFP chip, now i got that along w/ the FFP poly db, the 13*, p&p'd lower intake, tapered tb, no subs or spare this time, and gonna get octane booster!! RAH! i'll scan and post the 1st time and the new slips, last year was set up in the 1/8. who knows what it'll be this time.

now...the launch, D and hit it? D and brakestand to bout 2k? go on the green or 2nd yellow? this time i wanna be ready! rah!!

What's going on at IRP on Tuesday? If you go on the green you will suck ass. That's why it's a reaction time. If you see green it's too late. Line stall- depends on traction. If you have it use it. Your motor like RPM's anyhow. Good luck.

Something you just gotta experiment with your car.. Mine seems to launch best with brake-torqued and let go just before the last yellow light and i get decent reaction times. But if your tires are gonna spin then you need to go a bit earlier.. trial and error.

i think i did, but never went over 1500 rpms, i think a 2000 launch would be better. if y'all wanna see the times better, save the pic and use the windows pic thing or another app and zoom

You know, if you could learn how to get good reaction times that would be a VERY good bracket racing car. Those times are all SO close.

well im back!! my best r/t outta the 6 is a .095!! i found my launch method; 2nd, 2k brakestand and ease into it on the 2nd yellow, shift into D and let off around 85. currently scanning the slips. the cars i raced are in chronological order on the slip's time.
    -99+ Lancer Evo (0-1)the dude was sporting a helmet.....
-97+Cabroleit(spell); i had him till he either hit the nos, or turbo kicked in(0-2)

-95 civic(tip and digi tranny, car club prez's)
-93-95ish civic hatch(in club, v-tech heads and exhaust) blew him away

They are some....................slow............times for a Z34. Especially at low altitude.

Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the car?

Seriously, an 83-84mph trap speed is REAL bad for a 3.4L DOHC.........ESPECIALLY since you have some mods.

Maybe the timing retard is actually hurting you.

Doesn't the Lumina 3100 get around 16s-17s in the 1/4?

A 3100 will usually run 16.9-17.2 totally stock, but I have heard of the occaisional lower 16 from one..........all trap around 80-81mph with no mods.

A Z34 auto on the other hand (even the early 200hp ones), should be a full second and 6-7mph faster.

151,000 miles is the problem. but i am planning on a $2,500-$3k to rebuild/overhaul the tranny, along w/ exhaust and decked, 3 angle valve job, & p&p'd heads. the engine would have to be new and thats a $3,500 that i'm not getting added to the loan.
