I went & looked at this one........
Misprint on the mileage....it's actually 191,000.... the car hasn't moved from that spot in over 3 years, the body is all there, but the exhaust is in rough shape (it's not the original), the brakes are all seized, the flex hoses are toast, the headliner is falling down, the engine will not crank as the starter has failed (probably the reason why he stopped driving it...he did not elaborate). It needs a good $1k in parts alone to make it roadworthy.
Shame....the cars future is the crusher.

^Not even that........unfortunately here in Ontario, 3 years ago the idiot government in place decided to make selling 20+ year old vehicles even more difficult to do, by introducing law that all said vehicles must have a valid appraisal document by a RECOGNIZED appraiser stating the realistic value of the car attached to the bill of sale at the time of transfer at the MTO. Without the appraisal no ownership transfer will take place. All this is just for the tax that the government can hit you with.
In this particular case, the vehicles owner refuses to let the car leave his property until after the cars ownership transfer has been completed. He will not pay for the appraisal & the appraiser I would use doesn't do *long distance*.

Again.....shame, the car's future is the crusher.

    Damn Steve,

Haven't noticed you here in a while.

It might be different when the car is not on the borderline, but back in the spring I bought a '92 GP for $800 and declared it as such is Keswick. They didn't seem to mind. I think that the key with the whole zero red book value is that the people at the MTO are to use their discretion.

I think that if I tried to put it through for $200. I would have saved $78 in taxes and gained and appraisal and a headache.

I think that she's worried that if you "come out of the closet" your marriage will be over.
