    TCS Doesn't Work?? 00 GTP *Light Always On*

    So does anyone have an idea off the top of their head as to why i cannot turn my traction control on or off? I thought it was a bad DIC, but after changing it, i have the same problem. I dont have any abs lights that i can tell, is there something that would prevent me from turning the trac control on or off?

    Have you checked to see if the TC button is actually working and connected?

    he changed the dic = changed the button, its built in to the dic, are you sure the abs light works? i have seen them taped off befor (like on natalies car)

    Mine stayed on when my ABS control unit went. Try getting a scan tool to communicate with the ABS module, and if it cant, thats the culprit. Big $$ new, go used for sure!

    Its been awhile, but i dont think my ABS light was on at first either. Then it would light up, and the steering would get heavier because of the lack of power steering assist.

    ABS light does the systems light check thing everytime you go to put the key in like it should. Now, im not sure why your steering would get heavy from a bad ABS unit, it doesnt have anything to do with the steering. Both system are independent of each other. I did test the ABS when i first bought the car, works perfectly; no lock ups, uneven braking, nothing, just perfect, smooth, working ABS brakes.

    because GTPs have variable assist steering, which is integrated with the ABS unit. dont ask me why.

    Im not so sure i have that. Seeing as how its pretty much a stripped GTP, im wondering if i even have that.

    Whats the RPO code for it? NV8?

    Its standard in all the second gen GPs and maybe the other second gen cars too

    NV7 iirc, or 1SC on your trunk lid tag.
