For the receiver, looks like it's just RCA style connections, nothing digital like HDMI or anything?

VGA and component will get you pretty close, but looks like no digital

I guess if I only pass sound through it and don't pass any video through it, I should be ok.

I have a spare one that the internals/display/controls work but im 99% sure the amp just blew. Want that too? Buy me a drink or something 
yeah, it works great, I just upgraded to a 7.1 and wanted some HDMI inputs

Does the projector have a ceiling mount? Or is is table/desktop?

it can be mounted, but I dont have one with it (that Im getting rid of). I got mine online for like $15
