Nice pick up. I wish we didn't have to deal with rust here and dust like you have.

    Thanks for the comments everyone

Today i was able to get the car out to my dads and do some clean up work on it. As you had seen on the first page, the car looked pretty bad on the outside and the engine bay. Well, it also needed front strut mounts so i got new ones of those put in first. Its a good thing, cause they were on the verge of letting loose! Not a good thing to have happen to you when doing 60+ on the highway with your infant on board.

Got those done and then proceeded to wash the entire exterior off. But, not before going gung-ho on the motor. Found the jugs of Greased Lighting, yes i said jugs, and fed thru to my dads power washer. Hosed literally everything i could see off. I also stripped all the badges cept for the arrowhead off, and used the power washer to remove the remaining foam tape they stuck them on with.

Got it all cleaned up, dried off and pulled back inside to finish things up. Got the last of the adhesive off the doors and trunk and polished them up with some compound and wax, looks like they were never there I also (since this is my only pet-peeve about Pontiacs) removed the front honey comb grills and also trimmed up around the opening and removed the mounting tabs. I think it came out pretty good for a quick razor job, i just need to take some sand paper to the opening and smooth it out. Now, the grill work matches the lower opening, and I love it

Pics time! I didnt get the inside, so pics are just of what i cleaned today.

Also didnt like that i couldnt hear the blower, so i chopped the box down and put an open cone on it...now she screams

If anyone needs better pics on the engine bay, i can prolly cook them up later on after my wife gets home.

    Enjoy for now!

Damn that's a great clean up. Love how all the rust free state cars' fuel rails are still all shiny

So a little update on whats going on. After getting the front strut mounts changed out, i started to notice that the rest of the front suspension was starting to make noise as well. So, since i work at Napa, i ordered in brand new lifetime warranty complete control arms, and outter tie rod ends. Since doing the ball joints is needed, i figured for the extra $20 a side, its worth it to get the 200k mile old control arms changed out as well. Since the bushings are nearly shot there too. Also noticed the tie rod ends were original too, there is not one shred of boot left hardly. So, i figure between the tie rod ends and new lower control arms, the car should ride pretty good up front

I'll get some more pics soon when get the chance. I have to work on my saturday (Tuesday) so i may or may not get the arms and ends installed this week, but it would be nice to get rid of the knock everytime the car starts moving forward or in reverse.

    Stay tuned

So i ordered a 3.4 modular pulley and a 3" catted downpipe from ZZP. Im all kinds of excited to get them installed. Im also getting colder plugs, 10.5 wires, and going to be ordering a new timing chain and all the parts needed to do a change on that. Im hoping i can get a box made or purchased for the intake too. I want to keep that hot air out of the motor as much as possible.

Im also planning on getting the rest of the exhaust done too. Going to be doing 3" back to the Y- then split to dual 2.5" with a couple Magnaflow Magnapacks mufflers. They are basically just a high end version of the Vatozone knockoffs and im hoping with the rest of the exhaust done they will sound good. Im also ordered some really nice tips, but wondering if they will be too big to use. Im not shy on cutting the bumper to fit, but a little worried about the overall size on comparison to the car. Here a pic:

2.5" inlet, dual 3.5" outlets, 7.5" overall width. The bottom of the cutouts in the bumper will clear them, but the tops will not. I love double walled tips and so far, these are the best ones i have found. I love the look and im really hoping they turn out okay.

And a quick pick of the pulley, downpipe, im waiting for Fedup, i mean FedEd to drop it off today.

Wow, I don't know why I missed so much of this thread since the beginning. You really cleaned 'er up; engine bay looks great. I would just make your own FWI like most others, including myself, have done. Way cheaper and you can make it look just as nice and professional for a fraction of the price. Like others have said in other threads, I wouldn't use bigger plug wires as stockers are sufficient to even high hp levels.

So im now down to muffler choice. And im at two types but not sure which to go with. Ive hear the oval mufflers before and they do great, but then i found these:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/180885287027...84.m1423.l2649

Well, after looking into it more, now im stuck. Im not sure i want to go with the canister mufflers, or spend the extra $25-$30 and just get a pair of oval mufflers. I wish there was a way to tell what it was going to sound like when im all done with it. Anyone have some more input on which i should go with?

These are the others im looking at:

Ive heard a few vids with the Magna's and i think for the extra $30 i will just run the oval mufflers. I will see how loud it is and then go from there.

On another note, i got the downpipe today and got it installed. Im very happy with how it turned out, and it looks great! Even opened up alot of room under there. My only complaint is the hooks for the rubber donuts are really long but i was take care of those next time im at my dads.

Outta the box and lookin good!

    Old Vs New:

Gonna put the order in for the mufflers, 10.5 plug wires, and hopfully the rest of the exhaust this weekend. I cant wait to get this part of the mods done. This weekend im gonna see about getting the pulley on as well
