    Where can I get a shift-kit for my 4T60-E?

I've looked a few different places for a shift-kit and haven't had any luck, I thought about the 5-speed swap but Im not looking for that big of a project yet. But any help finding me a shift kit or at least an answer on if they even make one would be much appreciated.

Oops.....that was an honest mistake, It's late. 60 degree V6...... I was looking at 180 deg thermostats on another page while I was writing that. Thanks for pointing it out though.......I feel stupid now.

Save the money if you are thinking about going with the B&M kit. All you have to do is take the vac line that connects from the upper plenum to the tranny off and cap both ends. What they do is give you a neat looking valve that does the same thing except it has a little metal filter and causes and adjustable leak. Most people on here say to shim something but I am not that familiar with the internals of the tranny to tell you what.

Yeah, the vacuum thing, only controls the feel of the shift, it doesnt make it shift faster. You have to shim the accumulators to make it shift faster.

Does anyone have directions or pics of some sort as to how to do that. I gotta check but I think my tranny pan is leaking so gotta pull it to change the gasket so figured I would do that and the filter but while I am in there maybe put the shims in if it is easy from the bottom. How does it affect tranny life? Am I gonna kill it by doing the shims because with 135K on it the is only some slight leaking from the pan but it runs fine.

Check out www.brian89gp.com He has a write up on how to do it. Its pretty simple, just drop the pan, and they accumulators are there

B&M Shift+ kit sucks. dont ever waste time on that. shimming the accumulator springs is similar to what people do with their oil pumps who race to get more pressure. however, thats the best way to flush your bearings out. do what you want though. ill prefer to have my sometimes quick and sometimes slow shifting depending on if the AC is on or not.

i'm gonna sound like an idiot but man i'd like my car to shift faster...i guess what i wanna know is what exaclty do you mean by a shift kit? like using the actual automatic shifter to change gears or just making it shift faster? either one would be hard on the tranny wouldn't it...man i'd like my car to chirp the tires on a 1-2 shift when floored...but yeah i looked at the accumulator page and damn that pic is hard to see...any one wanna help the stupid guy (me) out with a little more info
