Thread: Strange Electrical issue

    Question Strange Electrical issue

Driving my car home tonight I noticed a weird electrical "hissing/crackling" type noise and occasionally the headlights (and especially) the digital readout on both the radio and odometer reading would flicker. At first I thought it was my wipers, but later figured out that it was coming from the vacinity of the headlight switch. I found that dimming the interior panel lights down all way stopped the noise. About 30 minutes into my drive, it stopped doing it altogether. I never smelled anything hot. What could cause this and where would I start looking to correct the problem.

Alright, I'll go to a bone yard and get one to replace it.
