For you guys in the Chicagoland area...
Welp, I've been hoarding all this stuff for anywhere from several to too many years now all under the excuse that "I MIGHT still use them in the future!", but I know that's not true. And so, as much as I hate to part with some of these (I love the way older electronics looked), I have to accept I have no use for them and that they're only tying up space. This is obviously older/outdated technology (which I've upgraded from, thus why I don't use this stuff anymore), but there's still plenty of life and use for them for the right person. For example, these would be excellent for dorm rooms, first apartments, trying to make a "man cave" out of your room or parent's basement, cheap decent quality equipment for music/video in the garage, etc.
I am pretty firm on the prices. IF you're looking at buying several things at once, I may be willing to knock a few bucks off, but I've got things priced pretty low as it is. I live in Naperville, and will be willing to drive a short distance to meet up with someone (except for the TVs, those are pick up only), but that is all. Do not contact me asking if I'll deliver my $30 electronics to Chicago. Not going to happen. And no, I won't ship! Nothing here would be worth the cost of shipping. Anyhow, here's what I got. 1. Denon AVR-900 AVR (audio-video receiver) $25 SOLD!
For those that are even semi-serious about home theater/entertainment equipment, I don't have to tell you Denon is considered one of the best. This receiver is in excellent cosmetic condition with only the tiniest of blemishes and imperfections. I have not used this unit in many years, but I did power it on, connect it to a CD player and hooked up a couple small speakers real quick to verify that it is indeed still working properly. All the lights in the display are still functioning brilliantly as well. I do not have a remote or manual, but have seen them for pretty cheap on eBay. 2. Denon DCD-600 CD Player $10
This is a single-disc CD player produced around the same time as the above receiver. Unfortunately, this one has not shared the same anti-aging fortune. Cosmetically, it is still in very good condition just like the receiver. However, though the display still works well (AWESOME looking display), the CD tray will not open without you helping it get started (will close fine automatically), and it also won't do anything once you put a CD in. I don't have a remote for this unit either. If I had the time to track down parts and repair it myself, I would because I LOVE how this unit looks.
3. Philips MX3950D Home Theater in a Box System $40 SOLD!
Yet another item I'm reluctant to let go even though I know I'll never use it again (upgraded to Blu-ray and HDMI, which this does NOT accept) because I love how it looks. Very unique and futuristic in some strange way. It is a 5 DVD/CD changer which is capable of playing MP3 files as well, and comes with 4 satellite speakers, a center channel speaker and a sub (aka 5.1 surround sound) + remote control and quick guide manual. It is in like new shape, and was functioning perfectly before I retired it for a Blu-ray player about a year ago. In fact, this is what I hooked up to the Denon receiver to make sure the receiver was still working. The sound quality is surprisingly good for how small the speakers are. They're certainly not going to be show stoppers, but if you want a compact home theater solution that sound way better than the speakers on your TV, they serve the purpose very well. 4. Aiwa NSX-MT960 5.1 Surround Sound "Bookshelf" Stereo $80 SOLD!
This system retailed for somewhere around $400 new, and I searched long and hard to find even a used one after it was discontinued (paid $180 + shipping) just because I loved how it looked so much, and I'd never seen a bigger, more powerful bookshelf system at the time. Still having a hard time bringing myself to sell it (reoccurring theme), but I know it's going to continue to just sit there. This has 2 (big) main speakers, 2 rear satellite speakers, a center channel and sub with a 5-disc carousel CD changer (the 2nd pic below is not mine, but shows everything mine will come with except for the manual). There are just a couple small scratches on the top and one on the left cassette tray (received it that way), but otherwise, still in great cosmetic shape. I've never used the cassette players myself, so I can't comment on the functionality on that part, but everything else was still good when I last used it. Very loud, very powerful and very big system for being a "bookshelf". I even used this as my movie surround sound system prior to buying the Phillips system. Will be very sad to see this one go. Comes with original remote.
5. RCA 24F512T 24" Flat Screen (not panel) TV $25
This was my bedroom TV till I moved to an apartment in which I didn't have room for it anymore. Because it is a flat screen, it is a true 24" vs. traditional tube TVs diagonal measurements being curved. Worked perfectly fine before I stopped using it, and still powers on with no issues as you can see in the picture below. I didn't have a means to attach it to cable where it sits right now, but I very, very highly doubt anything is wrong with it. Has one set of input and one set of output RC cable jacks with a coaxial and S video connection on the back, and another set of input jacks behind the left speaker which is cool because it's still "front inputs", but at the same time are kind of hidden. 6. Apex AT3208S 32" CRT TV $35
This was my main/living room TV until I upgraded about a year and a half ago. Everything was working perfectly fine on it when I retired it, and I powered it on real quick just to make sure it was still good (as you can see in the picture below). Yes, it's an old school, heavy CRT tube TV, but it's cheap screen real estate if you want to stick a TV in a room that doesn't require the latest, state-of-the-art technology for entertainment. 7. HP S2031A 20" LCD Monitor *BRAND NEW/SEALED* $90
Yes...while not the top of the line, it's quite the leap in technology from everything else I have for sale. This is 100% brand new in the box still sealed with the HP seal/tape (see pics below). But this thing is 389 watts, and the stereo alone measures about 12" x 12" x 14". Each front speaker is just about as big as the stereo, as is the independent sub it came with (has on/off button on front, and volume and frequency knobs on the back). I've seen MAYBE 3 of these stereos ever including mine, and that's despite frequently searching eBay for them when they were only a couple years old. Found plenty of the many models beneath this one, but I didn't want those. Was dead set on this one after discovering it.
