    Letter to Tom & Ray (Car Talk Newspaper Column)

    Saw that in the paper last Saturday

    I've seen two verts featured in their articles, this one and one claiming the 3.4 had a timing chain, not belt.

    Well there is a chain too that's kind of important for timing. The chain turns the dummy shaft. The belt is turned by the dummy shaft to turn the cam sprockets. The chain itself doesn't have to be timed, but its still a part of the timing system.
