Mr Clean magic eraser. Best thing I found doing the top on mine. Takes some time, and lots of them, but works great

Like I said, they don't necessarily last very long, the canvas chews them right up, but it does work very well! I used to keep a box of 4 or so around all the time

When your done cleaning your top go to your local auto store and pick up some convertible top conditioner. It will help it keep looking good long after you cleaned it up.
