    my pos

    my 96 SE

I care very little about what it looks like but I've got a few rattlecans of duplicolor to take care of the hood and fender - also have the white fender flare to go on when I figure out where exactly to put the studs to mount it.

it's an original 3100 car with 255,000 km on it. it slaps like mad when it's cold but it doesn't really leak anywhere and runs decently enough....hard to start sometimes unless i give it gas. i don't feel like spending money on an iac so i live with it

it needs front end work in the next couple of weeks, after which point i'll be able to work on putting a new motor in it. do not yet know what i will be getting, 3.1 or 3.4, but i'll do the intake gaskets while it's sitting on a stand before i put it in the car.

it is what it is...a daily driver that i bought to keep the mileage off of its big brother (parked behind it in the driveway). good reliable car that is as slow as shit but fun to rev the piss out of.

That GP is actually quite decent save for what tiny bit of rust I can see. And FYI- You probably don't even need a new IAC, just take it off and clean it with throttle body cleaner

And I'd take that 96 way before I'd take whatever the hell is behind it! (Grand Marquis? Caprice?)

the IAC is very clean, that was my first thought. It's either defective or I have a big vacuum leak somewhere. I'm just waiting for the intake gaskets to start leaking.

The car behind it is my baby, '90 LTD Crown Vic. I like RWD full frame V8s.

Doesn't look to bad. Spray bomb the hood and fender, and put the cladding back on and away you go.

I gotta get it done before winter hits real bad. It's cold lately but not too cold hopefully.

The damn spaceman door handle drive me nuts! Crazy sideways things that I'm sure you guys are all familiar with. Dunno if it's just loose or needs replacing.

    LOL

When I had my 1990 SE my hand would always smack into the door where the handle should be.

White is definitely a good color for GPs, same as mine was.

I should say that I call it a POS but I say it with affection. It's a pretty good little car. A little underpowered and it's a victim of 90s American interior quality but it's been good to me.

Get used to opening your passenger door for people. Even when it's not dark out, people just kind of walk up and grab at the air/smack the car. I've grown to love it, though I wish the handles were a bit more rugged.

Oh man that's always a trip! People either grab at the air, sit there looking for the door handle or ask if the handles are shaved and the doors are automatic.

Nice car, white is my fave GP color too right next to blue.

When I seen my first Grand Prix like this, those door handles were one of the coolest things about the car.

I remember when I had to give my dad a ride to get his car from the shop, he couldn't figure out where the handle was at first. LOL

Oh..and I always get confused when I try to get in cars with normal handles now. I want to grab near the window, not under it!
