I'm not sure what you are talking about with the piston not firing..head gaskets and timing chain and belt is what mainly needed to be replaced. And yes the whole engine was filthy from the oil and anti-freeze leaking all over.

They were all pretty cruddy from the oil, since I did have a head gasket leak. That crap just wipes right off pretty much. We cleaned the whole engine block off.
You can see in one of the pictures the other piston is dirty too.
Does anyone happen to know the exact height and width of the third break light on the spoiler like the one I have? I would measure it myself, but my car is at the shop.

I finished my car last weekend! Got the engine back together and back in the car..and it runs great!
I forgot to take pictures of the engine all back together, didn't even cross my mind at that point. Pretty ticked at myself about it, all I got are these pictures. I posted them on gpf.net, but figured come over here and show you guys here.
