Before you put the heads back on, put a small amount of oil on the cylinder walls. If there that clean you dont want piston ring on cylinder wall with no lube i.e. oil. itll smoke a tad at start up, but helps protect everything.

I did spray down the cylinder walls and tops of the pistons with the combustion chamber cleaner, so they aren't dry, but I'll probably put some oil down each spark plug hole before I put in the spark plugs

    Thanks Adam!

Also, as with every time I have a car sitting for a while, I pull the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine over a couple times until I have good oil pressure pumped up. Then I put in the fuel pump fuse and start it.

What is the procedure for the hydraulic tensioner for the timing belt? I remember something about it needing to be filled with oil.

I don't remember ever having to fill one? Theres a screw to retract it, put a pin in to hold it, get the belt on, then remove the pin to release it.

pop the rubber plug out the end of it, rewind it with a small flat head, stick a paperclip in through the hole on the side to lock it down, fill with synthetic oil, replace rubber cap, install.

It's all back together now and runs great, but still wants to run hot With the thermostat in, it takes about 45 seconds of running to get to 230*.

I removed the thermostat and it took about 10 minutes to get to 230*. Cooling fans don't turn on when the gauge was reading that hot. If I jump the ALDL port with a paper clip, both fans will fire up and run at full blast. Heat was blowing good and hot inside the car and both bleeders were pushing out streams of coolant. Upper radiator hose didn't get very hot though and the radiator cap wasn't hot at all...

No I don't. It's pretty much the only thing I *haven't* replaced on this engine.
