$35 + ship for USB2.0
$25 + ship for Serial
USPS first class shipping is ~$2.50 or so every time i've sent one out to the continental US, Canada was ~$5 and Germany was ~$5 as well. but, choose whatever shipping method you like.
anyways, these are MAX232(meaning proper, not the 2-transistor crap) ALDL to USB/serial cables, capable of interfacing with anything GM produced from ~1981-1995(with the only exceptions i can think of being the early OBD2 test vehicles, namely the 95 F-body 3800s and the 95 4.3 "blackbox" S/T trucks), and can read ABS, TCS, BCM, PCM, airbag modules, pretty much any module that GM placed in it's vehicles.
obviously, you'll need software to translate the datastream into something useful, tunerpro RT is my recommendation, V5 if your laptop will handle it. i've been slowly building support for every module produced prior to 96, the only two "problem children" i've ran across so far are the saturn modules and the PM3 setup, neither of which seem to have accurate documentation. this could be remedied in the future, but is too complicated a process to explain in a group buy thread.
since GM went with a proprietary DLC connector for most of 81-95 production, they're difficult/somewhat expensive to get ahold of, however ALDLcable.com has one that costs $21 shipped, should someone be so inclined. otherwise it would be intelligent to directly integrate the cables into the vehicle's wiring under the dash essentially adding a USB/Serial DLC port to your vehicle in addition to the OBD1/OBD2 connector. Penglii had issues with his Tech1 not wanting to communicate with the ALDL cable hooked up, however a simple rocker/toggle switch fixed this problem. i would think DIS/DIC and other modules on the ALDL line would need the same solution, however, no one has ever mentioned a problem with that happening?
questions/comments/ZOMG I NEED 50 OF THEM NAOW?
