Thread: Wbody Nationals September 10-11th planning thread

Yeah, I was annoyed everyone split up for dinner as well, I didn't get to see Jeremy and Loi at all, and dinner ended up being really late, though that was partially because of the track.

I'll try to get some ideas for restaurants together.

And I think we have a great thing at the RRI in Dayton and the track is close by as well. If enough people want to change it, I suppose we will, but consider that Luke, Buck, Anthony will have to drive that much further and it would make it a little less attractive to our western folk that are interested in coming. Dayton seems to be a very nice central location.

I'll try to be more involved in the planning this time... I was having a lot of things on my plate while the June was planned, I want to really thank Nunzi and Aquaman, they really stepped up and made this meet a great success. Also the lack of stoned drunkenness was great as well, everyone had a great time.

Just keep it in Dayton. Its easy to get to, we all know where the heck it is, and we know our way mostly around there.

Luke - You making another trip east. I think we would understand if you couldnt.

FWIW also, while hooters food sucks as, they now have a liquor license for those who are interested.

Frickers is great as well as Steak and Shake.

You are going to get some that want to go one place and some that want to go another. Its bound to happen

Yea trying to force everyone to eat at one place will never work, just let people eat what they want.

In all honesty, I really doubt I would make it down to Dayton a second time this year. It's just too much of a drive. Now if it's in the Toledo/Maumee area or whatever, there's a much better chance that I will make it.

1.) We successfully did that on Friday night.

2.) We found "the place" on Saturday night.

The problem with making reservations ahead of time, a lot of places won't give you a reservation on a Saturday night, period, let alone to a group of 30 people.

My girlfriend has a great idea... next meet... we all rush a mall food court! Then we can all be together, and we can all get what we want, then go back to the hotel and drink! Truth of the matter is, thats one of the only ways you will get the whole group together for a meal.

Another option, lets order pizza or something to the RRI.

I'm with Rich, if we are going anywhere, it's gotta be the wing place that myself, Rich, Matt, Nunzi & Jill, and Bill & Stephanie went to on Saturday night. the absolute ONLY downfall is that we all had to show ID and get a bracelet when going in. They may serve minors, we didn't ask. Honestly the best place I have been to in Dayton thus far.

And after thinking about it today, I vote leave it in Dayton... Don't fix what isn't broken.

My chances of making the september meet are extremely slim. That whole month is busy at work with the college semester just getting started. So just plan it for whenever, if I can make it, I'll try to be there.

To address a couple of other things I noticed in this thread....

Keep it in dayton.. please. Unless it's closer to Kansas. That's the only way I'll continue coming. It's a good vacation for me, and it doesn't cost a lot to get there. More miles just means I'll have to break up the drive and spend more on lodging...

Events or something to do on sunday would be great. Then leaving on monday. I know this can't work for everyone, but it would make the weekend a little longer, and allow for a little more sleep to prepare for the drive back.

leave it in dayton I say. a change of scenery would be nice, maybe find another park to hang out at? I'm all for pizza one night. The weekend after labor day would work better than labor day weekend, since i usually have the 4th of july off, and the other manager takes labor day weekend off. if it does end up then, I'll take friday off and probably come either thursday evening, or early friday

Does anyone have any objections to waiting on Adam getting back so he can make it? Thats fine leaving it in Dayton... And also, I dont know if I wanna have the whole group in one place on Saturday night, its been a tradition for me Jeremy and Galen to go to Hooters and not everyone likes Hooters
