You really need a new trans and a tune BAD. I'm sure it's got low 16's high 15's in it.

I'm gald to see it coming along!

P.S I would not do anything else untill you can get a good tune! A good exhaust will make it lean out.

yeah, you're missing a LOT of power with no tune....

this is a good 100kPa(WOT) 400-4800RPM spark line:

    2.12
    13.06
    13.06
    13.06
    13.06
    15.18

    26.12
    26.12
    26.12
    27.18
    27.18

here is what you're running on:

    3.88
    9.88
    13.06
    13.06
    13.06
    13.06

    15.18
    15.18
    16.24
    18.00

Trap speed looks pretty decent for being untuned.

Those aren't horrible times, but I would think you could do better. A tune is much needed.

I don't see how having a 3 speed would have anything to do with hurting a 1/4 time. You won't get anywhere near 4th gear in our w-body tranny's while racing.

Not bad for not being tuned. Where you spinning at all? What was your 60'?

I need to go back to the track with mine...

IIRC, the 3 speed gearing is even worse than 4T60 gearing...

Now if it's the gearing, then I completely understand that. But from what I understood about the 3 speed (which I admit is very little) is that it was almost the same as the 4T60E except there was no overdrive. If it's the gearing, then cool, he needs a 4T60 at least.

i don't remember what the 3 speed W's got for an FDR, but it's a pretty good assumption it's not as quick as the 3.33 the 4 speed 3.1s got.

best 60' was a 2.51 on that run. No spin the track was super sticky, and it is making the car bog off the line. need this thing to get out of the hole as good as it did with the 3.1, best on it was a 2.39. right now it is trapping the same as my old 89 cavalier and it was running 15.7! Not sure what the fdr is on this trans, probly in the mid-high 2.xx. I don't use 3rd at the track, just wind it out in 2nd! If I keep the car untill next spring I may build up the th125 that I have, it has a 3.18 fdr.

might go back in two weeks and put the 14" rims on it, I am sure the 215/70/15 is killing me! Also have a few more things to get done before then, check fuel pressure, change plugs, possibly wires, alignment, rear brakes, and I am going to try to test my ported plenum to see if it will make a differeance. I am sure it has a 15.9 in it before a tune
