    From the whatever thread arguing:

I've always felt this forum should try and it's split up sections a little based on the generation of w-body. Like maybe splitting the tech sections and maybe more such as the member rides etc into different sections, I would have sections for gen1/1.5 and gen2/3 due to their similarities.

There are a lot of w-bodies worth at least $35 and a bag of Doritos, but I think most gen2/3 owners who stumble upon this site will end up leaving before or shortly after joining since they're not getting much out of the forum due to its heavy gen1 bias. I'm not saying there is nothing here currently for gen2's and 3's, because there are lots of posts and posters. It's just the clear bias I think would be a turn-off.

These cars are out there by the hundreds of thousands. Gen 2's are probably in their hayday now and will be for quite awhile. 3G's still cost a lot and that community is probably still growing (heck they're still rolling new w-bodies off the assembly line, even if they are fleet queen Impalas). It just seems logical to try and expand things a little a make a place for these people beyond what we do have here, which seems to be mostly members who have upgraded from older w's and stayed on the board. There will always be sweet gen1's and good gen1 owner's and member's, but IMO if we stick with gen 1's only, things will keep going downhill.

the forum is heavily gen1 biased due to most of us liking gen1s, not that we're "hatin" or otherwise excluding gen2/3...

I don't have a first Gen and there is plenty of info for me here... Also... If you don't like it here... LEAVE... Its a free forum! Luke takes time out of his day to provide this place for you and all you can do is bitch about it? If I was you I would be thanking him for providing you with this website as a service to you... It amazes me how selfish some people can be

I'm going to go ahead and say NO, there is no reason for this. There is not a 1st gen bias here, and since the '97+ cars are getting cheaper, and the older cars are starting to die and rust out, that bias will change. I do NOT believe it turns people off from this forum.

    THIS.

What 1st gen bias? Did you not notice that Q4 Car of the Quarter was a 2nd gen GP GT, and the fact that the same car made 2009 Car of the Year?

Chill out everyone. By bias I just meant the ratio of threads, gen 1 vs. others. My thinking is it my be easier and more appealing for some people (namely new 2G/3G members who might happen across the board) to separate them. I don't meant anyone is biased against another type of w. We're all here to help and share.
