2 Vacuum Leaks. L67/3800 Series II

Hey, when I was/still doing the LIM I noticed 2 hoses broken. They are very thing and at the side under the snout of the supercharger. They connect into a 'T'. Well, the 'T' snapped off, it was just brittle and broke.

The other one runs on the passenger side from a wiring harness from infront of the battery to the passenger wheel well and goes behind the alt in the pic.

If anyone knows what these are and have a part number to replace it, that would be great.

they all break under the snout, and no one no regalgs.org has ever found them at a parts store. i would contact ed morad and see if he has any, or go to the dealer. good luck, mines wrapped in electrical tape.

If it is just a vacuum t, shouldn't any universal one at any parts store work? Or is this something special?

I broke one on my bonneville and it was less then $5 at the dealer. I just went in and asked for it, he printed out a diagram I picked it out, and he had it for me that same afternoon.

His sig shows a N/A Bonneville. I dont think it would matter for the T. Does anybody know what the other one is that runs down the passenger side strut?

Re: 2 Vacuum Leaks. L67/3800 Series II

I went to the dealer today and they wanted $44 for the va cuum line. They said it only comes in one piece. I walked away from that. I went to the salvage yard and checked around. 3800 N/A's are differernt and cant be used. I also found a 97 Regal GS and that was differernt too. All the other L67's were pulled. I found a 95 Riveria and ofcourse that was differernt since it is Series I.

Went to Parts Source and they only carry plastic male T fittings, where I need a rubberish female T. Long story short, I still didnt get one.

And the other one that goes around the passenger side does go into the engine wiring harness, but it goes back in behind the plugs. For now, I'm going to use some Loctite 465 and glue everything back together for now. Maybe if I can track down some small heat shrink for the other one in the wiring harness, I'll heat shrink it together. Any idea's if heatshrink can hold a small amount of pressure?

Re: 2 Vacuum Leaks. L67/3800 Series II

Well good news, I got the car running, but it smoked a lot from oil and degreaser. But it ran like crap and eventually died out. I glued the T back together and wrapped it with electrical tape and re connected everything. It runs good now. But, I definitly still want a replacement.

The T I am looking for is just under the supercharger snout and above the coolant elbow.

As for the other vacuum line, I believe it may be the gas fumes comes back into the supercharger and being burned up. I'm still going to try and glue that back together somehow.

Dont know if its the same part, but I bought a vacuum line (metal) with rubber T from the dealer for $24 for my 96 Regal. The T was available separately also, for about $3. Had to go to the chevy dealer for it ( the buick dealer told me the chevy dealer had it in stock on his computer)

New, is alot better than using glue and electrical tape to makeshift a fix

Oh, I definitly plan to replace it, but I used Loctite 495 to glue it back together. That stuff bonds anything. I really needed to get my car back on the road. But its all good now.
