Re: Tubular Front Control Arms- 1st gen

These are actually 17% lighter. Probably more so, because I weighed the factory ones without bushings. So probably closer to 20%. Not sure how much you are looking to save, not to be a dick but maybe you should make your own. Not trying to be rude at all here.

I will shoot some pics of the heim joints up later on. Might be able to get it PC as well.

That's what had me confused Mark. That and the mere 1.1lb difference between them. I imagine the bushings will make some difference. Thanks for clarifying that.

You thought that I mean solid bar? Oh yeah that would not be 1lb lighter lol. Yes these are 1" tubing with 1/8 or 3/16 wall I cant remember.

    Sorry I doubted you, haha.

These look good. I'm assuming that plate in the middle will be used for mounting the sway bar?

Yes, also stiffens the arm up quite a bit.

Sorry if I missed it, but do you know the final price for these? I'd likely be down for a set, it would save me from making my own.

Glad to see you made tubular ones Mark, sorry about the hard time i gave you in the other thread.

I will likely order a set somewhere towards the end of Feb, I gotta get some money saved up because I want to order the Camber plates too.

Hmm.... the camber plates would go nicely with the control arms.

Mark, you should make a package deal!

Not that I own a W thats worth putting it on, but a suggestion!

One suggestion that I would like to make, would be some reinforcement welded on the underside of the plate (flatbar welded perpendicular to the plate on the bottom) to keep the plate from flexing under load of the swaybar.

Other than that, looks great!! I'm in.
