Anyone ever replace their VACUUM MODULATOR?
And if so, what problems were you experiencing before-hand?
And how much of a difference did it make, or did you notice, once the new one was installed?
THANKS)

i have replaced it on my 90 lumina i was experincing harsh shifts i mean like slam into 2nd after i put it in the shift smoothed out but i do know the trans is damaged due to when the trans line broke on me in the mountians and i had to drive it with trans oil flowing out like asiv went through a gallon of oil in 20 mins!
You can get adjustable modulators, there's a little screw you turn inside it to adjust how firm it shifts. I don't know if they work for the newer cars, I'm sure they would, I have on in my TH350 in my Ventura. One way to know if you have a bad modulator is tranny fluid in your air cleaner or out the exhaust. If the diaphragm tears, the vacuum line can suck tranny fluid into the engine.
