I was kind of hoping for a section so we wouldn't clutter up the whatever section.

Yeah, but posting a thread about every section I need to discuss will start to annoy people and make it really hard to keep track of. I'll do it if that's my only option, but I figured I'd ask if there's a better way to do it.

IIRC, with the forum in its current state (on top of each other), it is not exactly the easiest to add another subforum.

Best bet, make a thread somewhere, and keep it there.

I think by adding a section, the forum would basically be endorsing the project, which we already stated we weren't going to do. Just make a thread someplace.

I don't see why this project is so hated that you won't 'endorse' it. EVEN IF it was USELESS, which it isn't, why is it such a big deal not to give it some room?

God, its as if we are trying to add a drug and sex-trafficking how-to forum or something.

Did I say it was hated?? I just said we aren't officially endorsing it. I don't see what the problem is.

My fiance just read this thread and said "I really don't get what their problem is against this book."

This is an example of the sections I'd be including in this book, but certainly not all.

    Suspension and steering
    Engine work
    Cooling system
    Fuel system
    Ignition system
    Drivetrain
    Brakes
    Body
    Electrical
    Storage

    Engine performance
    Suspension modifications

    Engine swaps
What to look for before buying
Recommended maintenance schedule based on experience (this is not the same thing as a manufacturer recommended tune-up interval)

Now that's very vague, but try putting yourself in my shoes. You want to discuss the contents of each of those topics and get feedback on current progress of the book in regard to all brands, models, and trims of 1st gen w-bodies, in one thread, without confusing the living hell out of everyone and getting information lost several pages back. It would be confusing at the very least, and more realistically would be a disaster. It just wouldn't happen.

Tell you what. I'll create a poll in the whatever section so I can get an objective idea of what the w-body community (as this board would be nothing without its members) thinks of this book.

If we've already made the decision that we don't want to create a new section, a poll is not going to change our minds.

And if we can organize a 20+ person meet with a 100-page thread, one thread will be plenty for your book.

Explain to me how a 100 page thread of "I'm in" responses will be anywhere as involved with information as a thread regarding the discussion of this book.

I could start quoting people from that thread, but I shouldn't have to explain how a thread about a meet is a poor comparison.

Would it be too much to ask for reasons that contain some substance?
