Me vs. new-ish mazda 6

First off i love killing a car that either thought he was the shit or thought my whine was a power steering pump hahaha.

Coming home tonight im heading down the freeway basically just driving how i always do, pull out to pass some slow farmer in his pick up truck in the fast lane of course and give it a bit of gas, only up to about 120km, its an 80 zone and im not a total idiot. But its a 3 lane road. Im slowing back down to about 90 ish in the left lane and the mazda 6 with 2 guys in it is doing the same but he stays in the right(middle) lane and keeps accelerating, i see this and give it a punch. Nice n quick up to about 120-130 and let off and he goes all ricer (i hate to use the term cause the car was not modded) and goes past me just enough to be in front and cuts back in my lane, typical rice move he even flashed the brakes at me haha.

Fast forward to the red light about 1/2 mile ahead, im still behind him and i guess when i hadnt shown a signal to go up beside him he got pissed cause i guess he wanted some stop light action or something so last minute he jumps over to the left lane staring at me laughing. So now im thinking ok this guy deserves it, TC goes off and when the light went green he jumped, i roll out a bit and im even with him barely into the throttle but hes pulling to the top of 1st really high i hear him dump to 2nd and i nail it while doing about 35-40km. Tires light up and i absolutely mow him down, i dont know if he though i was gonna blow up or if he missed 2nd but he dropped way back in a hurry. Next light he wouldn't even look at me, 2 hands on the wheel looking straight ahead.

My fun for the night. Doesn't happen very often but its fun once in a while to put some punk in daddy's car where he belongs haha. But seriously does my car not look fast? Most of the challenges i get i simply ignore, but every now and then i just have to.

Describe this Mazda (body style, manual/auto, generation). I'd like more info on the car you raced (I love car specs).

i "think" it was the 2nd to current body style, might have been a new one, it was a manual based on the shift from 1-2, was a 4 door.

it looked like this but black, so it would have been a 2006 at the latest, the 2007 got different tail lights.

My wife has a 2004 Mazda Mazda6s ATX with the V6. The car is pretty quick, but it is definitely slower off the line than my cutlass. The manual V6 cars run mid 6's to 60 and about 15 seconds in the 1/4, and the autos are a tad slower. If you slaughtered the guy that bad it may have been an i4.
