O2 Sensor Replacement Tips

The SES light went on in the 97 LS today, and it's a P0135 code (02 Heater Malfunction, bank 1 sensor 1.)

My 2 questions are:
- This is the sensor directly behind the motor correct?
- In replacing, any special techniques or ways of removing/installing?

Vehicle is a 97 Lumina 3100. Thanks!

Its right behind the EGR valve. Easiest way to get it out is pull the dogbones, rotate the engine foward, and take it out. You may have you use some spray like PB blaster or something of the sort to break the bond between the o2 sensor and the manifold. But just unplug it and take it out. Its fair simple.

Isn't it the sensor that's directly behind the evap solenoid below?

It's the only sensor that's in the rear manifold.

Spray some PB Blaster on it let it sit for a few mins and break that bitch loose. Make sure to use a offset O2 socket or a regular O2 socket.

Running the motor for a minute or two will help warm up the metal to crack it free too.
