i probally drove for like 10 miles like a complete idiot goin from reverse to drive while still rollin screechin my tires takin turns at 40 screechin the tires all while havin my e-brake on(i forgot)n i stop to pull into mcdonalds for lunch n i smelt fire n madd smoke was come from my right rear tire

i had a friend drive like 50 miles pulling a boat in his ford ranger with the ebrake on.. he cracked the roters and breakpads.

i would assume your breaks are F***ed up.

Insults aside, the heat may have contributed to increased wear on all the moving parts to the wheel. I would consider re-greasing the wheel bearings and checking the seals to your caliper cylinders. If your brakes aren't shuddering when you apply them, your rotors are probably okay. If that's the case, all you really would have done is severely wear out the pad-life. Consider yourself lucky if this is all you have to do.

Make sure the pads aren't glazed over and check that you didn't melt the dust seal.

and then when you make sure your brakes are good, get ready to make sure the tranny hasnt blown up on you, like it should have when you were doing that dumb stuff

Yeah as if there's a W out there where the e-brakes work worth a damn... Probably why you didn't notice them on, wasn't enough drag to really bog the car down.

Heh, no, but my sister seized a wheel on her Euro after the brakes were redone. Apparently the grease didn't withstand the temp and the wheel and hub were bonded in Holy Matrimony.

So do the E-brakes just really suck that bad? I replace my rear brakes (calipers, rotors, yada yada) I figured I just adjusted them wrong. Mine don't grab very hard. I have been debating whether when you adj. the rear brakes (pumping and releasing the e-brake) do you do it w/ the pedal pushed down or w/ your foot off the pedal? I never thought to ask. Does it matter?
