just wondering how in the hell i beat my buddies 97 camaro by a couple lenghts.... he has a 3800 series non s/c automatic i have a 3400 SFI... lined up we knew we were gonna race so i know he wasnt just driving, he spun hard off the line, could that have been the difference between him waxing me or should i actually be able to run on a V6 camaro??

To me Camaros should not be that slow. 15/16 seconds is pathetic.

I agree... they should be running lower numbers. The name "Camaro" almost insists that.

Camaro...slow...V8...makes sence. The 1972 307 went in a low 17sec pass down the 1/4, the 67 inline 6 "250" went the 1/4 at 17.9 or somthing, and the good old 305's in the 3rd gens are what, 16.4's?

    but ya, good kill!

I think of the 2.8/3.1 as a housefly banging against a window pane. It keeps going non-stop or what seems like forever with very little power.
regals have never done much for me. unless it is 88regallimited's regal that car kicks ass.
