Has anyone used this or anything like it? I got it off an F-Body forum but it only has listed certain ECM #s which dont seem to match mine. Here is the link. I need to run my car real time to test a few sensors out.

Do you have the ALDL to PC cable? Info for buying/building can be found at:

I use it on most of my GM cars that are OBD I...with the exception of my LQ1. It's very nice and have a great save feature for tracking data. The real time dash board doesn't say a lot, but does great for recording data. I built the cable myself, it's not that hard, especially if you've ever done anything with transisters before.

On that website, which file would I download to scan my '89GP? Can these programs only work from a serial port or can you run the plug to another port?
The do it yourself cables plug into the serial port. There are commercially available serial and USB cables (and possibly a USB kit).
Also, what engine is in your car?

Ya...Radioshack - 30 in parts...and you don't really even need to solder...just twist really good.
I am upgrading to Turbolink...same OBDI reading, nice dash board, but pricey...but I'm a Turbo Buick guy and expect nothing but Fast with Class.

It comes with a cable, but it's $160 just to upgrade from an old version.

I agree, That's bloody highway robbery. I refuse to pay someone approximately $90/hr to build a cable. I doubt it takes the guy more than 5 minutesOriginally Posted by Supreme Cutlass
